The Issue

After pressing the Sleep/Wake button the iPad does not respond, screen remains black.

The Reason

There are many possible reasons for this issue to happen, the main reason being the battery is dead and needs charging.

The Fix

Make sure that the battery has a charge.

• Plug in the iPad to the included AC wall adapter and wait at least 15 minutes. A battery image indicator will appear on the screen if it begins charging. If the battery was completely drained, it could take upwards of 15 minutes or more for it to charge enough to turn on and actually use.
• If the first step did not work, you will want to try and do a hard restart of the iPad (See Expression: Unable to Login to App > Hard Restart).
• If the iPad still does not turn on, call Apple or visit an Apple store.
